Why we believe in natural skincare

Natural skincare means taking care of your skin and keeping it healthy  without using any harmful artificial synthetic chemicals. Most medical professionals agree that using natural products is preferable to products whose side effects can eventually aggrevate the skin.

Check out the products in your bathroom and look at the list of ingredients as the two main culprits are parabens and SLS.

When you change to natural products you will notice the difference immediately and your glowing skin will speak for itself.

Parabens are preservatives used to inhibit bacteria growth and lengthen the shelf life of skin care products. In research carried out by Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, they have shown that parabens can react with the sun's UV rays in a way that may accelerate the skin's ageing process. Skin treated with parabens, methylparaben specifically showed an increase in skin cell fatality when exposed to ultra violet rays. Researchers believe that this increase in the rate of cell death can contribute to wrinkles, dark spots and diminished skin tone and thus make the skin look older. Parabens come in five common types :- methyparabens, ethylparabens, propylparabens, butylparabens and isoparabens.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) is a cheap harsh detergent used for its cleaning and foaming qualities. It has an approximate pH of 10 so is very alkaline and is drying to the skin. Skin becomes dry from stripping the protective lipids from the skin's surface so it can't effectiviely regulate moisture.
